Lubao – The Original

There must be sufficient grazing material for the shrimp to consume when you are away. Shrimps graze 24/7 and if you have a small tank without much surface area for biofilm to grow fast enough, it is risky. In addition if you have a lot of shrimp they can strip the biofilm in your tank in a day or 2. When shrimps start to go without sufficient biofilm it triggers cannibalisms, which means they will start preying on each other. This is detrimental if you are doing a selection process as your stock shrimp will be at risk. Hence, having a good source of grazing material not only is critical for a small tank, it enhances the probability of breeding as well.

I tried a variety of grazing material and i think more critically is if the tank is very dense with moss and plants, than additional grazing material isn’t required if the shrimp population is low. However, if you like me like to see a mass number of shrimp in an open area than yes having grazing material is important. Indian Almond leaf is also an excellent source of grazing material and if you would like to speed up the process, soak them 3 days prior to using. It will now be soft for the shrimps to feed on. One of the best grazing material which one can control and contain is the lubao. This is one that i really enjoy using and certainly helps shrimps breed better, increase shrimplets survival and many advantageous elements just in the small ball.

Direction: Soak 3 days in RO water if possible (if not tap water can work), change water daily (do not add air stone). The soaking starts the fermentation for the biofilm production. After 3 days of soaking add ball into tank. If it floats up, squeeze using a net to let air out. Swap out after 30 days for best result. 45 days works too but anything longer would have depleted the “active content”

Direction: Feed according to the number of shrimps in your tank with 20% more to allow shrimps to consume some after. If there are remaining feed after a day, feed lesser the next time. Breeder select can be use daily up to 2x of feeding.

Baby Dust is specially for babies that are within 14 days of being hatched. The 48% protein with superior ingredients encourages babies to grow faster and healthier during the critical period. If you are facing issue with babies not surviving past a week, this could be introduced to help spread the food everyway in the tank to ensure there are food available.

Direction: use sparingly either feeding on the surface of the water and letting it sink or you can use a bottle and mix it and pour into the tank. a general rule is to feed every 2-3 days with this food and daily feed for the rest of the days. This product can be use in conjunction with Kallax Ball as it helps with providing higher growth.

Hwa Version 1 food – Original

Personally after trying so many types of food, the draw factor is the highest for Hwa Version 1. What is a draw factor? It means that the shrimp are drawn to the food like honey to bee, it’s very quick resulting in shrimps able to quickly get their daily nutritional uptake. Hwa Version 1 feed has always been my favourite as it comprises of all the nutritional factor to maintain a healthy shrimp.

With the right staple food like Hwa v1 coupled with Lubao will set the stage for the shrimps to breed more and live healthily.

Direction: Break pellets up to small pieces for the number of shrimps in your tank.

Composition analysis: Protein 24.48%, Moisture 6.69%, Ash 20%, Fat 0.53%, Fibre 4.17%
